Our
fruit-growing company is situated in Tricht, the Netherlands, on the Linge dyke,
close to the world famous Appeldijk (Apple
Dyke) and the Mariënwaerdt country estate.
We grow apples, pears and cherries and in the last few years have diversified
into agro-tourism:
Bed
& Breakfast, a terrace, the sale of apples, pears, cherries, pure fruit
juice and jam made with fruit from our own garden, and a workshop/conference
room (30 m2).
Tricht
is a picturesque village on the river Linge, in the heart of the Betuwe, the
fruit garden of the Netherlands.
The
Betuwe lies in the beautiful 'rivierengebied' or river area, which is an area in
the Netherlands bounded to the north by the Rhine and to the south the Maas.
This area is characterised by its varied landscape with water, water meadows,
dykes, pastures, orchards and many historic places.
It is splendidly rural and quiet, but still easy to reach.
In short, a wonderful area that has much to offer.
Tricht
lies 25 km to the south of Utrecht, close to the 'Deil' motorway junction, where
the A2 (Amsterdam-Maastricht) and the A15 (Rotterdam-Arnhem/Nijmegen) motorways
intersect.
By
public transport, Tricht is accessible from Geldermalsen train station, which
has excellent connections to Utrecht (3x / hour), ’s Hertogenbosch (2x / hour),
Tiel (2x / hour) and Dordrecht (1x / hour).
From
Schiphol Amsterdam Airport www.schiphol.nl
you can be in Tricht in approximately one hour.
